Tamur River Rafting


Grade: 4-5

The Tamur river is one of the finest rivers for rafting. It is combined with three days trek which offers spectacular views of Himalayas, landscape, beautiful scenery of nature and a unique chance to mix with the local people and get an insight into their livelihood and culture with an exhilarating river expedition. The rafting trip starts from Dovan and ends at Chatara.

Tamur River Rafting Itinerary:
Day 01 : Fly a short scenic flight from Kathmandu to Biratnagar. After lunch, drive to market town of Hile. Overnight at hotel.
Day 02 :
After breakfast, drive to Basantapur. The porters will carry the rafts and start a spectacular trek through Rhododendron Forests.
Day 03-05 :
After breakfast, trek, trek and trek. You can view a sacred lake at Gopa Pokhara, enjoy the stunning views of Kachengunga, Makalu and Mount Everest, descend through terraced rice paddies and mountain villages and finally come to the river.
Day 06 :
After the safety instruction talk, put on the river and take on some of the most challenging rapids, one after another. Dinner and camp. Included: All meals.
Day 07 : Today you pass through steep canyon walls and powerful, continuous rapids. You pass by small fishing villages and wild monkeys on the river banks as the river slowly starts to broaden. Overnight camp on a beautiful white sandy beach.
Day 08-09 : 2 more days of exciting white water rafting.
Day 10 : Today we end our exciting white water rafting experience at put-in point at Chatara and fly back to Kathmandu.
